Join the Dayton Cycling Club on its premier spring cycling event
Share a great day cycling the Miami Valley. Along the way enjoy some great food, take in the blossoming spring scenery, make new friends, tell some cycling stories, explore our professionally marked routes and have some fun!
The 36th annual "Huffman Spring Challenge" is dedicated in fond memory of the late Horace Huffman Jr., member of Huffy Bicycles founding family and co-founder of the Dayton Cycling Club.
We supply food/rest stops. SAG support, road markings (arrows) and a detailed map to keep you on track.
Huffman Director & GOBA Routemeister Dwaine Wheeler has planned routes ranging from hilly to real hilly, mostly on lightly traveled country roads. There will be 30-, 50-, 63- and 100-mile routes, with the longer routes being over the most challenging terrain.
We will be riding beautiful roads rarely ridden by a bicycle tour. Some of the areas riders will pass through are Germantown, Gratis, Hueston Woods State Park, Camden and Indiana (for those who want bragging rights and an extra 10 miles). This will be the GOBA training ride to beat them all in 2010.
Yes we will have Day-Of-Ride Registration which will include everything the pre-registered riders get except the discounted pricing. Day-Of-Ride registration is $30. Don’t procrastinate! Register today and save some cash.
Huffman Hundred
The Huffman Hundred route is our big spring tune-up for winter legs. Your explorations will take you past all the great scenery of the shorter routes and so much more. If you want a few more that the 100 miles, take our Indiana loop just out of the Hueston Woods Rest Stop. This will add about 10 more miles and is flat.

The 63 or so mile route is a journey with great country lane riding, on super quiet roads that will satisfy the cyclist in you.
30-Mile Route
This route is perfect for beginning riders and for people looking for a morning-only activity. Yours will be the only route that passes through Germantown Reserve.
